2025 Women’s Royal Rumble

Pat McAfee, Cole and Barrett check in from the commentary desk and then sends things to Alicia Taylor in the ring, who begins the formal introductions for the opening match of the evening. Kicking things off will be the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

The theme for IYO SKY hits and out comes the Damage CTRL member as the first entrant. She settles in the ring as the commentators talk about her being the most unlucky woman on the roster drawing the number one spot. Liv Morgan’s entrance tune hits next and out she comes in the number two spot.

After the bell sounds, the two briefly milk the moment and then begin to engage. We get some early elimination teases from both, but each ultimately hang on until the countdown clock strikes. After the fans help count down from ten, the buzzer sounds and out comes WWE NXT Superstar Roxanne Perez.

Perez hits a Thesz Press and screams as she slugs away. She is nearly thrown out but hangs on. The countdown clock returns and out in the fourth spot comes WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria. She hits the ring and connects with a nice fisherman’s suplex on SKY and then deals with a wardrobe malfunction.

We see a near double-elimination spot as the countdown clock returns. This time when it expires, the other women’s secondary title-holder, WWE Women’s U.S. Champion Chelsea Green, makes her way to the ring in the number five spot. She takes her time getting to the ring.

Green tries for a bunch of eliminations, but every one of them hang on and then gang up on her in the first comedy spot of the evening. Out in the number six spot is B-Fab. Michael Cole nearly screws everyone tracking entrances up for the first time, by claiming Ivy Nile coming out is the number eight entrant. She’s not. It’s number seven.

Valkyria is nearly thrown out, with cameras even showing her feet nearly, or completely touching the ground. The crowd even gasped. Regardless, she’s still in there. Nile hits a double German suplex on Green and Perez. Stark hits a blockbuster off the top.

Lash Legend comes out next. She and B-Fab duke it out while others are selling. Green picks B-Fab up and eliminates her. Out at number ten is Bianca Belair. Belair hits a top-rope splash on Green. She tries for some eliminations, but each hang on. She hits a big suplex on SKY and plays to the crowd.

Belair hits the corner ten-punch spot on five or six women in a row and plays to the crowd some more. Out at number 11 comes Shayna Baszler. The commentators note that Stark now has some backup in the ring with her. Nile throws out Valkyria. Bayley comes out next as the 12th entrant.

Sonya Deville, Maxxine Dupri, Naomi and Jaida Parker come out next in that order. Eliminated during this time are Zoey Stark by Naomi & Bianca Belair, Shayna Baszler by Bayley and Sonya Deville by IYO SKY. Number 17 comes out and it is Piper Niven. She ends up eliminating Green by accident. Natalya comes out at 18.

The countdown clock appears and when it expires, Jordynne Grace makes her way out as number 19. As she heads to the ring, Cole and Barrett confirm that Grace is now signed to WWE. “The Juggernaut” makes an immediate impact in the match. She eliminates Jaida Parker and hugs Naomi.

Belair yanks her by the hair and tries eliminating her, but fails. Michin comes out at number 20. After a few minutes, out at number 21 in her Wyatt-style look, is Alexa Bliss. The roof nearly comes off the building as she heads to the ring.

At number 22 comes Zelina Vega, who has giant wings on her back as part of her entrance gear. Vega hits Code Red on Grace off the ropes in a scary looking spot. WWE Speed Women’s Champion Candice LeRae comes out at number 23. Only person not to bring their belt with them so far.

Number 24 comes out and it is another talent from WWE NXT, as number one contender to the NXT North American Championship, Stephanie Vaquer, comes to the ring next. Number 25 is Trish Stratus, who as Cole points out, is wearing the ring gear she wore in her WWE debut 25 years ago.

Raquel Rodriguez comes out as the number 26 entrant. We’re still at only ten total eliminations in the match thus far. So a bunch are likely coming soon. With help from Rodriguez, Morgan eliminates Natalya and then Alexa Bliss. Number 27 comes out and it is Charlotte Flair. WWE’s attempt to calm down the Bliss elimination heat.

She gets pyro coming out, just in case fans were still booing the Bliss elimination. She takes her time heading to the ring and upon entering the ring, she begins chopping everyone in sight as fans “WOOO!” Niven is eliminated by Charlotte. WWE NXT Women’s Champion Giulia comes out as number 28.

Giulia eliminates Jordynne Grace and then Nia Jax comes out as number 29. She eliminates Vega from the apron while on the floor. Was she even legally in the match yet if she hadn’t rolled into the ring? Either way it’s official. Trish eliminates LeRae. Jax eliminates Trish.

Out as the 30th and final entrant is WWE Hall of Fame legend Nikki Bella. Nia gets in her face, but literally everyone gets Nikki’s back and they all ambush Jax and attack her at the same time. Jax ends up shucking them all off by herself before letting out a war scream.

Jax ends up getting credit for eliminating about 6 or 7 people at the same time. One fell early, Rodriguez? Regardless, good luck to those keeping order of entrances and eliminations, because that just made the elimination tracking a nightmare. Regardless, Charlotte ends up getting the final elimination for the win.

A Charlotte Flair vignette airs to announce her inclusion in this year’s Women’s Royal Rumble match. That is where she will return to the ring. Inside the arena, Tiffany Stratton makes her way out to the ring. Stratton says she’s the center of everyone’s attention – kind of like at the Rumble where 30 women will be fighting to face her. She says she beat last year’s champion so she isn’t worried.

IYO SKY & Bayley vs. Charlotte Flair & Bianca Belair

Once the emotional Edge video package wraps up, we return inside the arena where Damage CTRL’s theme hits. Out comes Bayley and Dakoa Kai. They tell us that they’re gonna grace us with the presence of a champion and then introduce “The Genius of the Sky,” reigning WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY.

IYO SKY and Bayley make their way down to the ring for scheduled women’s tag-team action. On that note, we shift gears and head into a quick pre-match commercial break.

When we return from the break, we see video footage showing how Bianca Belair beat Asuka for the title only to lose it to IYO SKY after she cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase. We return live and out comes “The EST of WWE.” She settles in the ring and then Charlotte Flair comes out and joins her.

The bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this women’s tag bout. Kicking things off for their respective teams are Belair and Bayley. Belair takes it to Bayley early on and then tags in Charlotte Flair. “The Queen” enters the ring and picks up where “The EST of WWE” left off, taking it to the Damage CTRL leader as the fans in Toronto cheer her on.

Flair beats Bayley down and then knocks her out to the floor at ringside. IYO SKY comes out to join her but the two are both taken out by a flipping splash from “The Queen.” As Charlotte Flair soaks up the adulation from the crowd after the impressive high spot, we head into a mid-match commercial break as the bout continues.

When we return from the break, we see a shift in momentum has taken place during the commercials, as Charlotte is now being beaten down by Bayley and IYO SKY. Belair finally gets the hot tag and starts taking out both Damage CTRL members by herself. They start double-teaming Belair and working on her knee.

Charlotte tags back in. She ends up getting knocked out to the floor where she immediately clutches at her ankle. Belair ends up tagging in again and hitting the K.O.D. for the win. Good match.

Winners: Charlotte Flair & Bianca Belair

Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

Charlotte Flair’s theme then hits and out comes “The Queen” in her ring gear. It’s time for our first match of the evening. As she settles into the ring, we shoot to the commentary position where Patrick and Graves welcome Michael Cole to the three-man team for tonight’s show.

After that, they send us to a video package recapping the Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair triple-threat match at Saturday’s SummerSlam premium live event, which ended with Iyo Sky cashing in her Money In The Bank briefcase to walk away with the WWE Women’s Championship.

The lengthy video package wraps up and then Asuka’s theme hits. Out comes “The Empress of Tomorrow” for our opening contest here on SmackDown. She wears his wild mask as she heads to the ring. She settles inside the squared circle and is ready for singles action.

Now the bell sounds and we’re officially off-and-running with this one. We hear the crowd doing the “WOOO’s!” in the background as these two circle each other. Charotte isolates the arm of Asuka while they are standing and controls it for several moments. Asuka frees herself and starts blasting “The Queen” with stiff forearms.

Charlotte ends up running over Asuka off the ropes with a big shoulder tackle. She picks Asuka up and sends her into the ropes. She leap frogs her but then Asuka lands a drop kick coming off the ropes on the other side of the ring. Asuka blasts Charlotte with repeated kicks as she tries to get up.

Flair fights back and gets Asuka on the mat. She tries isolating the leg but Asuka frees herself. Charlotte heads to the top-rope but Asuka pops up and stops her. She brings her down the hard way and goes for the cover, but only gets two. She sticks her green tongue out at the camera while wearing a sadistic smile on her face.

On that note, we shift gears and head into a mid-match commercial break as the action continues with “The Empress of Tomorrow” in the offensive driver’s seat.

When we return from the break, we see Charlotte Flair fighting back and taking over on offense. She leaps up to her feet and blasts Asuka with a spear. After that she gets up and is ready to finish Asuka off, but is distracted by Damage CTRL making their way out.

As Iyo Sky, Bayley and Dakota Kai make their way down to the ring, we see Asuka capitalize on the momentary lapse in focus by Charlotte, as she is now controlling the action in the ring. Bayley hops on the ring apron. Charlotte goes after her but turns around into double knees from Asuka. Iyo Sky leaps off the ropes and drop kicks them both for the double disqualification.

After the match, Damage CTRL continues to beat down Asuka and Charlotte Flair. They walk off and Dakota Kai gets on the mic and announces Iyo Sky as the new WWE Women’s Champion to the crowd for some cheap heat.

Winner: Double Disqualification
